The death of a reality television personality in an apparent overdose has sparked an investigation by the FBI. TMZ cites law enforcement sources saying the agency is investigating the death of Joel Taylor, who was a regular on the Discovery Channel series “Storm Chasers.”
As we reported previously, Taylor died Tuesday aboard the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Harmony of the Seas. The 38-year-old had reportedly been taken off the dance floor and back to his room after consuming enough GHB to be rendered unconscious.
“We’re told there were huge quantities of party drugs on board the ship, including cocaine, ecstasy and GHB,” TMZ reports. “Our sources say several people were arrested before the ship left the Ft. Lauderdale port.”
The ship docked in Puerto Rico following Taylor’s death, and TMZ cites passengers saying “there was a lot of commotion involving drugs” on board the ship. The FBI is reportedly examining the circumstances of Taylor’s death along with how the drugs got on board the vessel and who supplied them.
