Former Fox News Co-Host Says Female On-Air Personalities Were Secretly Taped While Disrobing

In a bombshell allegation against Fox News Channel and its onetime chief Roger Ailes, former Fox News star Andrea Tantaros says the channel had a closed-circuit television network that enabled Ailes to monitor offices including those where most of the network’s female talent disrobed daily, The Hollywood Reporter’s THR, Esq. reports.

Tantaros, a former co-host of FNC’s “The Five,” makes the allegation as part of an amended complaint filed Monday.

“There was also a bi-annual trunk show in the Spring and Fall conducted by Fox’s wardrobe department,” the amended complaint says, as quoted by THR. “The trunk show was held in empty Fox offices and female talent was expected to disrobe down to their undergarments to try on new on-air dresses for the next season, without even the benefit of a curtain. The dresses were pre-selected for the women by the wardrobe department before their arrival; pants were not an option. Upon information and belief, Ailes was recording female employees disrobe without their consent in their offices and during the bi-annual trunk show.”

Fox News responded with the following statement: “Fox News moved for sanctions against the lawyer who filed Andrea Tantaros’ original lawsuit and he has since withdrawn. None of the four lawyers currently representing Tantaros in the action signed her new complaint, which she purports to have written herself. Her outlandish claims lack any factual basis.”

The amended complaint is part of a messy legal fight between FNC and Tantaros, who first sued the network, Ailes and other Fox News executives for alleged retaliation in August 2016.

  1. Bombshell? A disgruntled former host in a lawsuit invents an allegation and this is a bombshell? Her own lawyers aren’t even part of the allegation made on “belief.”

Truth has become a casualty in the war against sexism.
