Longtime “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek, who underwent brain surgery in December, sent out an update to fans via a video posted Thursday on the show’s official website and on YouTube, which you can watch below.
Trebek explained that he suffered a fall about two months ago, which led to blood clots in his brain, necessitating the surgery. He described the situation as a “slight medical problem.”
NBC News reports that taping of the show has been suspended briefly while Trebek, 77, recovers from the surgery.
In a statement, “Jeopardy!” producer Sony Pictures Entertainment said Trebek was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Dec. 15 and underwent surgery the following day.
The company added: “He is expected to make a full and complete recovery. Alex spent Christmas at home with his family, and he will return to the ‘Jeopardy!’ studio for taping in mid-January.”
Best wishes for s speedy recovery & a happy New Year from a long time Jeopardy Fan!
