A number of late-night hosts seized on Donald Trump’s tweet Tuesday promising that he will be announcing “the most dishonest & corrupt media awards of the year” next week.

CBS’s Stephen Colbert sent out a tweet Wednesday evening saying: “So excited for Monday’s “MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR!” See you on the red carpet, @AndersonCooper! #TheFakies.” He also reportedly put up a “for your consideration” billboard in Times Square, and posted the ad online. You can see the ad below.

“The details of the president’s planned ‘awards’ were unclear,” CBS News notes. “His post about it came in between other tweets threatening the use of a big nuclear button against North Korea and touting Fox News’ Sean Hannity’s 9 p.m. show.”

On ABC, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” devoted part of Wednesday’s monologue to the Trump announcement, with Kimmel calling the proposed awards the “Stupid People’s Choice Awards.” You can see Kimmel’s Trump material from Wednesday night by clicking here.

  1. Watch the announcement get better ratings than the Colbert or Kimmel “entertainment”.

  2. Late night just ain’t what it used to be. Both in diminished ratings and certainly content.
