David Letterman is getting back into the talk show game, and the first guest on his new show will be Barack Obama. Netflix rolled out details today on season one of the show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman.”
The hour show will run on a monthly basis starting Jan. 12, with six episodes on tap. The other guests announced today are George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Jay-Z, Tina Fey and Howard Stern.
“Field segments will bring Dave to locations far and wide, expressing his curiosity and desire to dig deeper on a specific topic related to the iconic guest featured in the episode,” Netflix said in today’s announcement.
The Obama interview marks Obama’s first television talk show appearance since leaving office. Each episode will be focused on one guest.
The show is produced by RadicalMedia and Letterman’s Worldwide Pants, Incorporated, for Netflix.
