The world television premiere of “Straight Outta Compton,” which will run in its complete unedited, R-rated theatrical format on FX, will include special content warnings. The cable channel announced plans today to premiere the Oscar-nominated feature film on Thursday, March 1, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

FX announced that it will run audio and visual warnings [CC] leading into the movie and coming out of every commercial break.

The warnings will say: “The following film is presented in its complete theatrical version. It was rated R by the MPAA and may not be appropriate for children under 17. It is rated TVMA-LSV and contains strong language, sexual situations, violence and nudity. It is intended only for mature audiences. Viewer discretion advised.”

FX also noted: “Additionally, there will also be :10 second in-show advisories that have all the visual information but the following announcement: This film is presented in its original, uncut version. It is rated TVMA-LSV. It is intended only for mature audiences. Viewer discretion advised.”

The presentation on FX will lead in to the premiere of “Atlanta Robbin’ Season” at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

“‘Straight Outta Compton’ tells the true story of five young rebels from South Central Los Angeles who, armed with only their lyrics, swagger, bravado and raw talent, stood up to the authorities attempting to keep them down,” FX says in today’s announcement. “Following the rise of the world’s most notorious group, Straight Outta Compton features breakout stars O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Ice Cube), Corey Hawkins (Dr. Dre), Jason Mitchell (the late Eazy-E), Neil Brown, Jr. (DJ Yella) and Aldis Hodge (MC Ren) as members of N.W.A.”

  1. Tues 3/19/19 Not sure what’s going on with Fox, but Fox Movie Channel aired SOC tonight from 8:05pm to 12:05am & there was definite CENSORESHIP going on. Fox continually CENSORED one word that I couldnt even *guess* at as to what it might be since all other common/major “swear” words came through loud & clear. They also PIXILATED several bikini-clad butts in the various poolside scenes. I hate censorship. It’s offensive. At least Fox isnt Hallmark. The tame words bitch, bastard & ass are ALWAYS silenced & even the word “God!” when used as an exclamatory response is often bleeped. All other “swear” words are strictly forbidden on Hallmark. (This is annoying when watching their re-runs of Psych. In one episode they even bleep out the sound of a fart that occurs when Shawn is messing around with a radio sound effects machine!) … As for Fox – FX & FMC – so much for freedom of speech, artistic license, common sense & using one’s own remote control to “control all that you see & hear” when confronted with something that “offends” you

  2. This is my first movie
