One of the stars of the omnipresent CBS comedy series “2 Broke Girls” is on her way to Fox. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Beth Behrs will star in the new Lee Daniels comedy pilot “Our People.”

“Based on the Israeli format ‘Nevsu: A Young Multi-Cultural Couple,’ the comedy revolves around a man from a bombastic African family who don’t have a word in their native language for ‘privacy,’ and his fiancee from a Midwestern family as they try to build a normal life together. Although nobody can agree what that ‘normal’ means.” THR reports.

Behrs played Caroline Channing opposite Kat Dennings’ Max Black on “2 Broke Girls,” which was canceled by CBS in 2017 after six seasons. The show remains in strong rotation in syndication, including a cable run on TBS.

“Our People” is a single-camera comedy penned by Vali Chandrasekaran, who also executive produces alongside Daniels, Pam Williams, Marc Velez, Yossi Vassa, Shai Ben-Atar, Liat Shavit and Trent O’Donnell, with O’Donnell set to direct the pilot, THR notes.
