A comedy series that just had its season premiere is basic cable’s most watched prime-time scripted comedy telecast in more than a year, according to FX, which sent out an announcement today raving about the numbers for the Thursday, March 1, season premiere of “Atlanta Robbin’ Season.”

Through the first three days, 2.7 million total viewers watched the program via its premiere telecast, two encores and digital streaming, the network said, noting that the premiere was up 7% over the show’s season one premiere in the key demo of adults 18-49, based on Live+3.

The show, from Donald Glover, posted huge increases from Live+Same Day to Live+3: +123% in adults 18-49 and +109% in total viewers.

“On a Live+3 basis, the premiere telecast of ‘Atlanta Robbin’ Season’ (March 1, 10:00pm-10:40pm) received 1.3 million Adults 18-49, the most of any basic cable primetime scripted comedy telecast since Week 3 of FXX’s ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s’ 12th season on January 18, 2017,” FX noted in its announcement.
