This morning’s installment of ESPN’s “First Take” delved into new allegations surrounding AXS TV Chairman and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who is involved in a petition alleging racial discrimination at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

USA Today reports that a former employee at the center filed a petition seeking documents from the Mavericks and is seeking to depose Cuban in connection with a possible racial discrimination lawsuit.

“Michelle Newsome filed the petition in Dallas County Court on Thursday alleging that Cuban tried to ‘sweep under the rug’ a 2011 incident at American Airlines Center that a noose was found in the IT closet across from Cuban’s suite,” USA Today reports. “Newsome, who is African-American, heard of the presence of the noose from a male employee, who is also African-American, who found it before the Mavericks’ Feb. 23, 2011 game.”

On today’s “First Take,” veteran sports commentator Stephen A. Smith in particular expressed alarm about Cuban and possible racial issues.
