A new TV series appears determined to live by the motto “The last man standing will have the fastest car.” The series, “Fastest Car,” launches April 6 on Netflix, marking the streaming service’s first global original motor series.
“In each episode of ‘Fastest Car,’ three souped-up ‘sleeper’ cars, tinkered with and lovingly labored on, go head to head with one of the world’s most sought-after supercars,” Netflix says in a promo blurb released this week. “Don’t believe a 1971 Ford Pinto can beat a Ferrari 488 GTB? Or a 1984 Buick Grand National will leave a McLaren MP4 in its rearview mirror? There is a whole subculture which begs to differ.”
The show is executive produced by Al Edgington, Joe LaBracio, Dawn Ostroff, Scott Weintrob and Jeremy Finn, and produced by Condé Nast Entertainment and Large Eyes.
