In Court Papers President Trump Weighs In, Legally For the First Time, on the Stormy Daniels Affair, Claiming She Owes at Least $20 Million for Breaking Confidentiality Agreement

“President Trump, weighing in directly,” for the first time, on the case of Stormy Daniels — whose real name is Stephanie Clifford — “claimed in court papers filed by his lawyers on Friday that the porn actress who alleges she had an affair with him violated a confidentiality agreement at least 20 times, exposing her to damages of at least $20 million,” reports The New York Times.

The story says, “Mr. Trump formally joined his legal team’s response to Ms. Clifford’s suit [that the confidentiality agreement is invalid] in a motion, filed Friday, to move the case from state court in Los Angeles, where Ms. Clifford filed her claim, to federal court.”

The Times adds, “Until now, Mr. Trump had kept his distance from the legal wrangling, leaving it to his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, to take the lead in refuting Ms. Clifford’s claims. And the White House has refused to say how involved Mr. Trump had even been in the initial agreement with Ms. Clifford, signed in October 2016.”

Trump “vehemently” denies any affair took place, according to previous statements by Cohen.

Notes USA Today, in its story, “The filings came a day after news emerged that 60 Minutes planned to air an interview with Daniels on March 25.”

The USA Today story also says that “Charles Harder, an attorney who represented Hulk Hogan in a lawsuit that bankrupted Gawker Media, signed on to represent Trump in moving the case to federal court and [trying to force] the matter back into secret arbitration proceedings.”

  1. Seems to me that Donald Trump has acknowledged his role in the the Stormy Daniels Affair by having his lawyer(s) file suit that she violated the confidentiality agreement. If he was not involved with her doesn’t doesn’t filing suit for libel make more sense?

  2. This guy is a real tool. I didn’t do it but file anyway.

  3. It says a lot that he makes no pretense of disputing the allegations, leaving that to his attorney to quote him as “vehemently” denying the allegations. Instead he focuses on violating a confidentiality agreement and his so-called lawyers want another SECRET arbitration hearing.

  4. Not sure why so much time is spent on this. He wasn’t doing anything in the oval office, and that president finished his term, despite saying “I never had sex with that woman”. More focus should be spent on his policies and showing how the Dems policies would be better. He is a one term president if the Democrats nominate someone that people can like. Last time it was the candidate that caused the Dems to lose. A better candidate, without so much baggage, will easily beat Trump in the next election.

    • Monica Lewinski.

  5. If she was threatened with physical harm to sign like she claimed, all hell will be breaking loose. Trump will be facing a little thing called Extortion.
