In a broadcast world where whatever’s old can become new again, it’s the same old story for NBC’s “Will & Grace,” which is a hit again — as it was the first time out, when it ran for eight seasons before wrapping in 2006.

NBC, which had already renewed the reboot for a second season, announced that it has added a third season to the order. Additionally, the network increased the season two order from 13 episodes to 18.

Season three is set to premiere in fall 2019, with season two due up this fall.

“So far this season ‘Will & Grace’ is averaging a 3.1 rating in adults 18-49 and 9.8 million viewers overall in ‘live plus seven day’ figures from Nielsen Media Research,” NBC said in the announcement. “‘Will & Grace’ is NBC’s most-watched prime-time comedy at this point in the season in eight years and has improved its Thursday timeslot by +48% versus NBC’s year-ago results for regular non-sports programming in 18-49.”
