One cable channel has been especially busy on the programming side, with the announcement today that Oxygen Media greenlighted 10 new original series and will feature the U.S. premiere of an event series.
The rollout is part of an aggressive expansion of the channel’s original series slate following Oxygen’s rebranding in 2017 to a full-time true crime destination. This year, the two-part “Aaron Hernandez Uncovered” became the most watched true crime program in the history of the network.
Among the new series, “Abuse of Power” is set to premiere Saturday, May 12, with both “Buried in the Backyard” and “A Wedding and a Murder” set for Sunday, June 3, Other programs have yet to be given premiere dates.
The event series is the U.K. production “Serial Killer with Piers Morgan,” which does not yet have a premiere date.
