The Fox TV stations will add news blocks in at least seven markets, according to TVSpy.

Those markets include Charlotte, N.C. , Detroit, Minneapolis, New York, Phoenix, Tampa Bay and Washington, D.C. Fox is expected to add two more markets to the list soon.

Jack Abernethy, the CEO of the Fox stations, said, “In a time when media critics are accusing large station groups of cutting back on news, we are adding more newscasts than ever with a total of more than 42 hours of local news per week this year.”
