Actor Noah Emmerich, who has had a high profile on TV lately as FBI agent Stan Beeman on FX’s “The Americans,” just joined the cast of “The Spy,” which is in the works at Netflix.

The six-episode limited series explores Eli Cohen’s (Sacha Baron Cohen) role as a spy for Israel in Syria in the early 1960s.

Emmerich will play Dan Peleg, described by Netflix as “a charming, rumpled and brilliant Mossad trainer. He is wise, wary and stubborn, and has a tendency to blur the boundaries between the personal and professional. He has conflicted feelings about Eli, and is tormented by a mistake he made in the past.”

Gideon Raff is writer and director on “The Spy,” with Légende Films and Alain Goldman producing.

Emmerich has had roles on “The Walking Dead” and “Billions,” among many other TV shows, and has appeared in many feature films including “The Truman Show,” “Beautiful Girls,” “Frequency” and “Super 8.”
