Kiefer Sutherland’s canceled ABC drama series “Designated Survivor” may have a taker who wants to keep it alive. Nellie Andreeva reports on Deadline that producer eOne is in talks with Netflix about a possible move to the streamer.

“Sources stress that the talks are still preliminary and complex as Netflix rival Hulu has U.S. SVOD rights to the first two seasons of ‘Designated Survivor,'” Andreeva notes.

“Netflix has the series internationally (outside of the U.S. and Canada), which makes it a suitable home pending untangling U.S. streaming rights and crunching the numbers,” Andreeva adds. “I also hear that the series’ creative team is excited about exploring what a premium version of ‘Designated Survivor’ would be.”

  1. Would love for Designated Survivor to be picked up!

What about Deception? HATE that it is being cancelled. It is entertaining and intriguing – what gives?

And lastly, Scorpion. Why are all the good shows being tossed aside?!

    • All 3 of the shows you mentioned are interesting/fun to watch. Would hate to see any of them cancelled. The “Guilty Cleric” mentioned below that Designated Survivor turned into 24. It’s too bad it didn’t turn into 24. If it had truly turned into 24, it would have run 8 seasons and been the longest-running espionage-themed TV show in history. With Netflix negotiating for rights for the show, it may be saved.

  2. Designated Survivor should have been a limited series. The concept was good but limited. Halfway through the first season it became 24.

  3. If it had become 24, it would have had viewership.

Instead it became yet another anti-Trump conspiracy show.

  4. AM DEVASTATED THAT ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS IS GETTING THE AXED!!!

    PLEASE, PLEASE KEEP IT GOING!!!
