CBS Gives Series Orders to Four Dramas and a Comedy

On a day of non-stop programming news for the broadcast networks, CBS added to its lineup for 2018-2019 with series orders for four comedies and a drama.

The Futon Critic reports that one of the drama series is “The Code,” about attorneys who are also Marines. Principal cast members include Anna Wood, Ato Essandoh, Dave Annable and Phillipa Soo. The series is created by Craig Sweeny and Craig Turk, who are also executive producers along with Carl Beverly, Marc Webb and Sarah Timberman.

The series comes from CBS Television Studios and Timberman-Beverly Productions.

The comedy series is “Fam,” a multicamera family comedy whose cast includes Brian Stokes Mitchell, Nina Dobrev and Odessa Adlon. Corinne Kingsbury is the creator and executive producer, along with executive producers Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor, David Rosenthal and Wendi Trilling.

The series comes from CBS Television Studios, Kapital Entertainment and Trill Television.

A reboot of “Magnum P.I.” also received a series order, with Jay Hernandez in the role of Thomas Magnum. The other dramas are “The Red Line” and “God Friended Me.” Please click on the link above to The Futon Critic for details about cast and producers.
