The son of television personality Geraldo Rivera was arrested in New York and charged with assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, aggravated harassment, attempted assault and harassment, according to a report by the New York Daily News.
Cruz Rivera, 30, was released without bail Wednesday afternoon after a court hearing in Manhattan following his arrest in connection with an incident involving his girlfriend.
“Rivera was busted after attacking Meghan Burke once she broke off their turbulent nine-year relationship, according to police sources and the victim’s mom,” the story reports.
Rivera reportedly joked with photographers as he left court, saying, “I hope I look good, guys.”
“Though Rivera faces a half-dozen charges, the prosecution suffered a major blow when Burke said she didn’t want to go forward with the case,” the Daily News reports. “According to a defense attorney, Burke called the defendant on Thursday to say she was sorry and still loved him.”
