Local TV News Salaries Rose Last Year, But Less Than They Did in 2016 or 2015

Growth in wages for employees of TV news operations slowed last year, with wages growing less than the U.S. average, according to the 2018 RTDNA/Hofstra University Newsroom Survey. You can click here to read the full report.

The growth in wages in the segment still beat inflation in 2017, and overall TV news salaries have risen at almost twice the rate of inflation during the past five years, the report found.

Salaries for two-thirds of TV news positions were up in the past year.
