Gillian Anderson, beloved by legions of “X-Files” fans, has her next TV role lined up, and this time around the focus is clearly on sex. Deadline reports that Anderson will star as a sex therapist in the Netflix original series “Sex Education.”

The project comes from British production company Eleven Film.

“Anderson, who recently starred in ‘American Gods’ and is starring in Susanna Fogel’s ‘The Spy Who Dumped Me,’ will be joined by ‘Ender’s Game’ star Asa Butterfield,” Deadline reports. “Butterfield plays Otis Thompson, a socially awkward high school virgin who lives [with] his sex therapist mother. He teams up with ‘whip-smart bad-girl’ Maeve to set up a clinic to deal with their fellow students’ weird and wonderful problems.”

Created by newcomer Laurie Nunn, the dramedy is set for a 2019 launch.
