An actress who has taken a prominent role in Hollywood’s activism against sexual assault has been indicted in a cocaine case that she suggests Harvey Weinstein is behind.

TMZ reports that Rose McGowan could face jail time after being indicted Monday by a grand jury.

“McGowan’s been hit with one felony count of cocaine possession,” TMZ reports, adding: “Cops say back in January 2017 they found several small bags of cocaine in a wallet Rose had left behind on a flight at Washington Dulles International Airport.”

McGowan entered a plea of not guilty to the charge, and said she had been separated from the wallet for five hours before she got it back, the report notes.

“Rose — who was one of the first to stand up to Harvey Weinstein — says she believed the disgraced movie mogul may have had a hand in planting the cocaine to damage her credibility,” TMZ reports.

The report quotes McGowan’s attorney, Jose Baez, saying: “Rose steadfastly maintains her innocence. These charges would have never been brought if it weren’t for her activism as a voice for women everywhere. I assure you, this selective prosecution will be met with a strong defense.”

McGowan reportedly faces the possibility of up to a year in jail.

  1. Oh my god. Send her ass to jail.

  2. Can anyone tell me the name of any celebrity that admitted drug possession when they were first accused? I just can’t remember anybody but I’m sure there is someone that took responsibility for their actions.
