A new over-the-air U.S. broadcast network appears to have raised the bar in terms of “speed to market.” The people behind Quest announced Thursday that the new channel “has quietly surpassed the 50% deployment mark in just two months — a record for a rollout of this size.”
The announcement notes that Quest, which has partnerships with Wide Orbit and Amagi, is the first U.S. broadcast network to fully adopt cloud-based solutions for traffic and playout management. A spokesperson for the company notes that it would normally take “years and tons of cash” to achieve similar results using satellite infrastructure.
