With a spot opening up on the ABC morning talk staple “The View” due to the exit of Sara Haines, which we reported previously, rising Fox News star Abby Huntsman is in talks with ABC News to take over the spot, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Huntsman is the daughter of former GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman Jr., who is currently Donald Trump’s ambassador to Russia. She has been with Fox News since 2015 and is a co-host of the “Fox & Friends” weekend edition.

“Abby Huntsman, like her father, has some centrist tendencies, and is not reflexively conservative,” THR notes. “She made some headlines on July 15, when she appeared to ding the president’s meeting with Vladimir Putin by tweeting, ‘No negotiation is worth throwing your own people and country under the bus.'”
