Singer, actress and former Disney Channel star Demi Lovato, who was hospitalized Tuesday in L.A. after an apparent overdose, is reportedly awake and recovering with family members.
A representative for Lovato released a statement Tuesday evening saying: “Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support. Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
The rep did not offer details about what led up to her hospitalization. Initial media reports indicated Lovato had overdosed on heroin, but later reports suggested it was another drug.
Lovato had been scheduled to perform Thursday in Atlantic City, but that performance has been canceled.
