New York City authorities responded today after a swarm of thousands of bees took over a hot dog stand in the heart of Times Square. According to media reports, a street was shut down while officials dealt with the invasion.

“Officer Michael Lauriano — known as the NYPD’s ‘Bee Guy’ — donned protective gear, including a netting over his face, as he stood on a ladder and sucked up the bees with a special vacuum device,” Fox News reports.

The NYPD veteran reportedly captured most of the bees within a few minutes.
