Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has decided to end the treatment he has been receiving for the past year for brain cancer. Cindy McCain, the wife of the six-term senator, posted a statement on her Twitter account announcing the decision.

The statement notes that John McCain, 81, has already “surpassed expectations for his survival.”
