Top Global Concert Tours Ranked: One Artist Has the Most Expensive Tickets — By a Lot

With one exception, average concert ticket prices are somewhat close on a new list ranking the top 20 global concert tours — but the exception, Bruce Springsteen, is a doozie.

All of the other average ticket prices in the top 20 range from a low of $71.04 for Dead & Company to a high of $176.67 for Bruno Mars. But the average price for Springsteen’s current “Springsteen On Broadway” show is $508.66.

Admittedly, Springsteen’s residency on Broadway is a little different from the typical concert tour, but the price discrepancy is striking.

After Bruno Mars, the next most expensive average ticket in the top 20 is for the Eagles, who come in at $159.10, followed by the Rolling Stones at $155.26.

The new ranking from Pollstar is based on average box office gross per city, with the AP reporting that Taylor Swift comes in at No. 1 worldwide in average gross for the week of Aug. 15, taking in $12,116,238, with an average ticket price of $127.09. The Stones are second in average gross with $8,968,275.

Springsteen is well down the list in 12th place with an average gross of $2,057,006.
