Former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman threatened to “blow the whistle” on “a lot of very corrupt things” she says are happening in the White House, as the war of words heated up between Omarosa and Donald Trump.
Omarosa discussed her firing from her White House post during an appearance this morning on NBC’s “Today” show. You can see a clip of the interview, which includes newly released audio tape, below.
The appearance comes amid a high-profile clash between Trump and Omarosa over material in her new book “Unhinged” and over secret audio tapes Omarosa has begun releasing that reportedly include a conversation with Trump on the day after Omarosa’s firing, along with tape of her firing by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.
Trump lashed out at Omarosa today in a series of tweets, writing: “Wacky Omarosa, who got fired 3 times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time. She never made it, never will. She begged me for a job, tears in her eyes, I said Ok. People in the White House hated her. She was vicious, but not smart. I would rarely see her but heard really bad things. Nasty to people & would constantly miss meetings & work. When Gen. Kelly came on board he told me she was a loser & nothing but problems. I told him to try working it out, if possible, because she only said GREAT things about me – until she got fired!”
