According to friends of Matt Lauer the former NBC morning fixture feels so guilty about cheating with multiple women at work that he is willing to give his soon-to-be ex-wife Annette Roque “everything she wants in their divorce,” The New York Post’s Page Six reports.
“Lauer — who was axed by NBC bosses in November for a string of inappropriate affairs — has already agreed to pay Roque, his wife of nearly 20 years, up to $20 million, Page Six can reveal,” the publication reports, adding: “The couple are now getting along amicably, the friends tell us — and are both spending time at their 12-bedroom Hamptons pile, Strongheart Manor, as they prepare to finalize their divorce.”
The report quotes a source saying: “Things really have settled down. Matt and Annette are getting on and they’re both spending time with their kids. They hope to settle the divorce very soon.”
The fate of the estate, which Lauer reportedly bought from Richard Gere for $36.5 million in 2016, remains up in the air, The Post reports, noting: “They both love it and it’s Lauer’s ‘dream home.’ It is set on a massive 6.3 acres on the peninsula of North Haven near Sag Harbor.”
