A new report says there’s a simple reason that the hit CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” is wrapping after 12 seasons, and that’s simply because Jim Parsons wanted out.

Parsons and co-stars Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg reportedly make close to $1 million apiece per episode, “but Parsons was ready to say goodbye to the ensemble sitcom that made him a household name,” Entertainment Weekly reports.

“Since there is no show without Dr. Sheldon Cooper, next spring’s 12th season finale of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ will mark the end of the longest-running multi-camera series in TV history,” EW adds.

  1. Better to go out on top than to jump the shark!

  2. Because it should have ended after season 5 when it decided to become Friends for geeks?

  3. It’s ending about 6 years too late. Boring.

  4. He will do nothing after this and come back I’m a few years like Murphy brown

  5. Thank you all for 12 years of fun and laughter.

  6. I was a fan for quite a while but The Big Bang Theory “jumped the shark” several seasons ago. Repetitive scenarios, repetitive scripts with characters that never changed.

  7. Sheldon the “Scatmaster”

  8. it had a good run. And the haters will still hate. Get over it and grow the hell up.
