A comedian who is a familiar face on television encountered a less than enthusiastic audience when she opened with a series of jokes about Donald Trump. The AP reports that more than a dozen angry fans either walked out or were kicked out from Wanda Sykes’ show in Red Bank, N.J.

“Sykes began her set at the Count Basie Center for the Arts on Thursday in Red Bank by making fun of how the public appears to be aging more quickly from stress during Trump’s administration,” the AP reports. “The Asbury Park Press reports some attendees began heckling Sykes, complaining that she was being political.”

A number of attendees walked out, and arguments broke out among audience members and between attendees and staffers in the lobby, according to the report.

“Attendees who stayed at the show say that it was enjoyable and that attendees should have expected jokes at the president’s expense,” the AP notes.

Sykes, an Emmy-winning writer for “The Chris Rock Show,” is known for her appearances on “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and other shows.
