Comedian Norm Macdonald, who had an appearance on NBC’s “Tonight Show” canceled after getting in hot water over comments he made in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, continued his apology tour with a visit to “The View.”
Macdonald offered some context behind his heavily criticized comments about Louis C.K. and Roseanne Barr. He also “apologized for his apology” on Howard Stern’s radio show, in which he made a reference to Down syndrome that was widely seen as inappropriate.

I hate these people that say something without thinking then apologize for it after the fact. Either back up what you said or keep your mouth shut.
I feel sorry for people who are so narcissistic that they’ve never uttered something they wish they could take back.
The expectation that Louis C.K. would raise this issue in a comedy set in a small club is asking to be put in the same position that Norm is currently in. A comedy set is not the place to discuss this type of issue. If he had discussed this he would have been accused of using these women as comic foils. It also isn’t a large enough audience to be considered as a “real” apology if that is what Joy was expecting. C.K. would have been accused of trying to get away with just making the apology in a place where no one would hear it.
