The host of the new “Twilight Zone” TV series takes over for Rod Serling midway through the opening in a clip posted by CBS announcing Jordan Peele as the new host.

The new series, described by CBS as “a modern reimagining of the original,” is due next year on CBS’s All Access subscription service. Serling’s original series ran from 1959-1964 on CBS.

“Rod Serling was an uncompromising visionary who not only shed light on social issues of his time, but prophesied issues of ours,” said Peele. “I’m honored to carry on his legacy to a new generation of audiences as the gatekeeper of ‘The Twilight Zone.'”

The new show, on which Peele is also an executive producer, begins production this fall.

Here’s the official announcement, released today …
