A guitar player was kicked out of his band after being charged with possession of child pornography. The AP reports that the U.S. heavy metal band Manowar gave the boot to Karl Logan, 53.

The report cites jail records for Mecklenburg County, N.C., and says Logan “was arrested Aug. 9 on six counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. That charge involves possessing material showing a minor engaged in sexual activity.”

The band reportedly acknowledged the charges Oct. 26 in a statement released by it management company Magic Circle Entertainment, which says Logan will not be performing with the group “due to the fact that Karl and his attorneys are dealing with these issues.”

The band said it intends to keep its 2019 tour dates, which are mainly in northern and eastern Europe, and that the tour and the new album won’t be affected.

Manowar, which formed in Auburn, N.Y., in 1980, is known for having broken the Guinness World Record for delivering the loudest live performance on a number of occasions.
