It’s a Wrap for Acclaimed Series

A series that has been both a huge hit and a critical darling during what will be its seven seasons is about to come to an end. The cast members on “Orange Is the New Black” broke the news today on Twitter that the show will end with its upcoming seventh season.

The final season of the Netflix series will premiere in 2019.

The show has piled up 19 Primetime Emmy nominations to date, winning four Emmys. It has competed both as a drama and as a comedy, with Uzo Aduba winning Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for the show at the 2014 Emmys, followed by a win for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2015 for the same role.
