As Megyn Kelly negotiates her departure from NBC, the two sides are haggling over two main issues: money and a non-disparagement clause. That’s according to The Hollywood Reporter, which cites sources saying Kelly is resisting an NDA.
“Such clauses are standard in exit agreements, even those that are not fraught,” THR reports. “But NDAs have also come under new scrutiny in the #MeToo era. And many media companies — including Fox News, Kelly’s old employer — have waived NDAs in an effort to get victims of sexual harassment and misconduct to come forward.”
THR adds: “Kelly’s contract, meanwhile, is worth a reported $69 million and her lawyer, Hollywood litigator Bryan Freedman, is fighting to get all of it, sources close to the situation tell THR. Kelly has over a year left on a three-year deal.”
