An actress who stars on a Mexican telenovela was arrested and charged with shoplifting after she allegedly stole items worth between $100 and $750 from a designer store.

Danielle Stefani Arellano, who also goes by Daniela Castro, was arrested Friday in San Antonio following the alleged incident in a Saks OFF 5th store, The New York Post reports, citing police. KSAT-TV reports that she was charged with theft.

Arellano, 52, starred as Roberta on “Me Declaro Culpable,” which translates to “I Plead Guilty.”

“According to a police report, a loss prevention official saw Arellano taking clothes off of their hanger and placing the clothes into her purse. The loss prevention officer told police he saw Arellano making exchanges at the register, but made no attempt to purchase the clothes she placed in her purse,” KSAT reports.

The report adds: “The loss prevention officer told police he confronted Arellano in the parking lot and escorted her to the loss prevention office. She was placed under arrest and gave her belongings, except for her phone, to her husband and was booked for theft, the report states.

“Police recovered three pairs of pants, wovens, a sweater, a skirt and sportswear, according to the report. The merchandise was returned to the store.”
