An actress who has won two Academy Awards and three Golden Globes will star in the new FX limited series “Mrs. America.” FX announced that Cate Blanchett will star as Phyllis Schlafly in the project, which chronicles the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.
Blanchett won Oscars for “Blue Jasmine” (2013) and “The Aviator” (2004) and won Golden Globe Awards for “Blue Jasmine,” “I’m Not There” (2007) and “Elizabeth” (1998).
The nine-episode FX limited series, which marks Blanchett’s first role in a U.S. TV series, is scheduled for production in 2019.
