Why Kristin Chenoweth Is Joining the Tabernacle Choir

Actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth announced today that she will be joining the Tabernacle Choir for the group’s annual Christmas concerts and PBS special.

The Emmy and Tony Award winner will be the featured guest artist and narrator at this year’s Christmas concert by the Tabernacle Choir, Orchestra at Temple Square and Bells on Temple Square on Dec. 13, 14 and 15. The project is under the direction of Mack Wilberg, music director of the choir, and Ryan Murphy, associate music director.

The annual PBS special presents a 600+ person volunteer cast that includes the iconic choir, orchestra, dancers, actors and more to celebrate Christmas through music, dance and storytelling. They will perform over three nights in front of a live combined audience of more than 60,000 people, showing off Chenoweth’s versatility from opera to pop to Christmas carols.

The PBS special will air in 2019.
