21st Century Fox Executive Chairman Lachlan Murdoch opened up about the Megyn Kelly situation as part of a wide-ranging interview published today by Variety.
“Murdoch was reserved when asked about his view of Kelly’s fate, although he did allow that her standing as a top TV journalist has been damaged by the blackface controversy that erupted last week,” Variety reports.
But Murdoch, who described himself as “a big fan of Megyn’s,” threw cold water on the suggestion that Kelly, who has been rumored to have her sights set on a return to Fox News, might in fact be able to look forward to a reunion with her former network.
Murdoch “suggested that there was no room for her to return to the Fox News roster,” Variety reports, quoting Murdoch saying: “I’m very happy with our current lineup on Fox News and we won’t be making any changes there.”
Asked whether Kelly is likely to end up somewhere else on TV, he said: “I hope she does because she’s very talented.”
