CBS took the wraps off its winter lineup of comedies, with the schedule notably missing the freshman shows “Murphy Brown” and “Happy Together.” Joining the schedule is the new sitcom “Fam,” premiering Thursday, Jan. 10, along with the return of the Matt LeBlanc vehicle “Man With a Plan” on Monday, Feb. 4.
The freshman show “The Neighborhood,” which has been given a back nine order, is on the schedule, but the Damon Wayans Jr. show “Happy Together” did not receive an order beyond its first 13 installments. The show remains in contention for next fall.
The absence of “Murphy Brown” is not a surprise, as the pattern with recent comedy reboots has been to run a limited first season.
