ABC has decided not to move forward with a series order for the spinoff of its hit series “The Middle.” Deadline reports that the network opted out of “Sue Sue in the City,” the Sue Heck-focused single-camera comedy starring Eden Sher.

The project from “The Middle” creators/executive producers Eileen Heisler and DeAnn Heline is expected to be shopped by Warner Bros. TV.

“It was ordered by ABC to pilot in August, with Chris Diamantopoulos cast alongside ‘Middle’ series regulars Sher, Brock Ciarlelli, Kimberley Crossman, Finesse Mitchell and fellow newcomer Aaron Branch,” Deadline reports. “The spinoff follows the twentysomething adventures of eternal optimist Sue Heck (Sher) as she leaves the small town of Orson to navigate the ups and downs of a career and young adulthood in the big city of Chicago.”
