An upcoming TV program is making the unusual claim that it will broadcast live from the bottom of one of the largest submerged sink holes in the world.

The program is the two-hour special “Discovery Live: Into the Blue Hole,” set to premiere in the afternoon on Sunday, Dec. 2, on Discovery Channel.

“Located 46 miles off the coast of Belize, the Blue Hole is known around the world for its crystal-clear water and its abundance of sharks and sea life,” Discovery Channel says in today’s announcement. “But this remote spot has only ever been fully explored once — back in 1971 by legendary ocean expert Jacques Cousteau himself. But what mysteries lie at the greatest depth of this ancient sink hole that is millions of years old?”
