Grammy Nominations to Be Delayed

Dec 3, 2018  •  Post A Comment

The announcement of nominations for the 2019 Grammy Awards will be delayed because of the death of former President George H.W. Bush.

The Recording Academy said today that the announcement, which was scheduled to take place Wednesday, has been pushed back to Friday due to this week’s funeral and public viewing for President Bush. The nominees in key categories will be announced on “CBS This Morning” and on Apple Music.

“Bush’s body arrived Monday in Washington for public viewing, which kicks off four days of events that will include a state funeral at Washington’s National Cathedral on Wednesday and a private service at Bush’s longtime church in Houston on Thursday,” the AP reports.

Nominations for the 2019 Golden Globes are also due out this week, on Thursday.
