By a huge margin, the company that was just named the least-trusted tech firm is Facebook. MediaPost reports that a poll this month by Toluna found that 40% of respondents said they trust Facebook least with their personal information.
Twitter and Amazon were tied for second with 8% response in the poll, which surveyed 1,000 consumers.
“Facebook faces the double burdens of a massive data breach and the Cambridge Analytica scandal, accompanied by a wave of bad publicity,” MediaPost notes. “Its CEO Mark Zuckerberg has faced hostile questioning in Congress. Other companies have also had privacy ripples.”
Uber was cited by just 7% of respondents, while Google and Lyft tied with 6% response, followed by Apple at 4%, Microsoft at 2%, and Netflix and Tesla tied at 1%.
