The turnover continues at NBC’s “Today” show with the news that one of the program’s on-air fixtures is headed out the door.

Kathie Lee Gifford, who has been on the show for almost 11 years and co-hosts the fourth hour with Hoda Kotb, announced her exit on the air today in a clip that had both women in tears — you can watch it below.

Gifford will reportedly remain on “Today” until April 7, the 11th anniversary of her co-hosting role with Kotb.

News of Gifford’s departure comes on the heels of the abrupt ouster of Megyn Kelly in October.

NBC News President Noah Oppenheim sent a message to staffers this morning about Gifford’s departure, noting that she has been busy with film, music and book projects.

“She’s decided to focus her attention full time on those other creative endeavors,” Oppenheim wrote, adding: “When we first launched this incredible hour, no one could have predicted the lightning (or rather, wine) in a bottle that is Hoda & Kathie Lee.”

Gifford previously spent 15 years on ABC’s “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee” before making the move to NBC in 2008.
