Al Roker Defends Embattled Weatherman

Al Roker voiced support for a TV meteorologist who was fired for an on-air flub that sparked controversy over whether his words amounted to racism or were merely a slip of the tongue.

As we reported Tuesday, Jeremy Kappell was fired by WHEC-TV in Rochester, N.Y., after the words “Martin Luther C–n King Jr.” came out of his mouth.
