A well-received anthology series has been hit by the cancellation ax. Deadline reports that Syfy is pulling the plug on Nick Antosca’s horror anthology “Channel Zero” after four seasons.
The cable channel had previously ordered seasons three and four ahead of the season two premiere.
“Antosca served as executive producer, showrunner and writer on ‘Channel Zero,'” Deadline reports. “He first announced the cancellation on Instagram, and Syfy has confirmed.”
Deadline adds: “Each installment of the ‘Channel Zero’ anthology was based on a ‘creepypasta’ (user-generated horror stories published online). The first installment, the six-part ‘Candle Cove,’ centered on Kris Straub’s unnerving story of one man’s obsessive recollection of a mysterious children’s television program from the 1980s.”
