The latest expansion of TV’s “Star Trek” franchise will be a new live-action series starring Michelle Yeoh. CBS announced plans today for the still untitled series, which will run on the network’s All Access subscription service.
“The series will expand on Yeoh’s current role as a member of Starfleet’s Section 31 division, a shadow organization within the Federation, on ‘Star Trek: Discovery,'” CBS said. “Discovery” rolls out this Thursday, Jan. 17, on All Access.
Produced by CBS Television Studios, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment, the new series will be executive produced by Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth. Aaron Baiers will co-executive produce along with Bo Yeon Kim, and Erika Lippoldt will also write the series.
