Feb 21, 2019  •  Post A Comment

The costume and the costumer, in television and on film, took the spotlight Tuesday night at the 21st annual Costume Designers Guild Awards, hosted by actress Kate Walsh — in six different iconic film and television costumes.

Ruth E. Carter, an Oscar nominee for “Black Panther” and recipient of the Career Achievement Award Tuesday night, reflected on her work with director Spike Lee, saying: “The costumes were symbols of truth that will stand the test of time.”

TVWeek Open Mic writer Hillary Atkin was on hand and filed a full report, which you can read, along with a full list of the night’s winners and honorees, by clicking here.
